توماس ساعتی

توماس ساعتی (۱۹۲۶-۲۰۱۷) در موصل عراق به دنیا آمد و خیلی زود مدارج رشد علمی را طی کرد. ساعتی با پشتکار و دانش بالا سرانجام استاد دانشگاه پیتزبورگ در آمریکا شد. توماس ساعتی بنیانگذار فرایند تحلیل سلسله‌مراتبی AHP می‌باشد. ساعتی روش AHP را برای حل مسائل تصمیم‌گیری چندمعیاره موسوم به MCDM معرفی کرد. نظر به نارسائی‌ها و نقاط ضعف روش AHP وی بعدها روش فرایند تحلیل شبکه ANP را معرفی کرد. او در موسسه تفکر خلاق، نرم‌افزار سوپردسیژن را برای حل مسائل تحلیل شبکه طراحی کرد.

از توماس ساعتی (Thomas L. Saaty) مقاله‌های متعددی در زمینه مسائل مبتنی بر مقایسه زوجی برجای مانده است. او قانون قدیمی مقایسه‌های زوجی تورستن را احیا کرد و به صورتی کاربردی ارائه نمود. بسیاری دوست دارند بدانند او اهل عراق است یا آمریکا. مایل هستم بدانید او دانشمندی است که متعلق به زادگاهش نبوده است بلکه به دنیای علم تعلق داشت. این دانشمند بزرگ در سال ۲۰۱۷ درگذشت.
